BEAQ Accounting Challenge

A student competition designed to strengthen accounting knowledge, confidence and exam readiness.

The BEAQ Accounting Challenge gives senior Accounting students the opportunity to test their knowledge in a timed, engaging and curriculum-aligned competition environment.

Designed to support classroom learning and revision, the Challenge provides students with a practical way to apply their accounting skills, consolidate key concepts and build confidence ahead of assessment and external exams.

Launching in late Term 2-2026, the Accounting Challenge will give teachers a flexible resource to engage students while supporting meaningful revision in the second half of the school year.

Why participate?

The Accounting Challenge is designed to:

  • support student revision and exam preparation
  • provide a timed challenge experience in a low-pressure environment
  • encourage students to apply accounting knowledge and skills
  • align with current curriculum expectations
  • create a fun and engaging opportunity for students to test themselves
  • give teachers access to a useful revision resource following the competition

Whether used as a class activity, revision opportunity or extension challenge, this event is a valuable way to bring Accounting learning to life.

Who can enter?

The BEAQ Accounting Challenge is open to students from Queensland public, independent, private and Catholic schools, with registration completed by their teacher or school.

The Challenge is targeted at senior Accounting students and is aligned with the current Accounting curriculum. Younger students are also welcome to participate as an extension opportunity.

Teachers must hold a current BEAQ Individual Membership to register students for the Challenge.

How it works

Participating students complete the Accounting Challenge online during supervised class time, within the nominated competition window.

The Challenge is 40 questions and runs for 60 minutes and is designed to assess students’ accounting knowledge, application and problem-solving skills in an engaging competition format.

The registering teacher will receive access information and instructions prior to the Challenge, including guidance on supervising students during completion.
